You can add a new chart window by clicking the New button in the upper left corner of the screen and selecting New Chart Window. You can also click the Layout button in the upper right corner of the TeleChart screen and selecting a multiple chart layout.
Click the New button in the upper left corner of the screen and select New Chart Window; the options listed are described below:
Blank - Loads a new blank chart
window displaying the active symbol.
Comparison - Prompts you for a symbol to load in the new chart window
(all other parameter remain the same.)
Additional Time Frame - Loads a new chart with the Active Symbol
in the time frame you select.
Industry Comparison - Loads a new chart displaying the Industry
of the Active Symbol.
Sub-Industry Comparison - Loads a new chart displaying the sub-industry
of the Active Symbol.
With multiple charts displayed, you can focus on any one chart simply by double-clicking on it with your mouse. This will enlarge the selected chart and thumbnail the remaining charts. When the Active Symbol is thumbnailed it will be outlined in red.
Click the Layout button in the upper right corner of the screen to choose from 5 preset multiple chart layouts or select a layout you have saved.
Each new chart window can be customized. It can have a ticker symbol, zoom level, chart template, and time frame independent of the primary chart, or you can sync it to the primary chart. To select which, if any of these aspects you want linked to the active symbol, simply click on the chart options button (see picture below.) If a linked aspect is changed, all linked charts are changed also. For example, if you link the ticker symbol and jump to GE, all linked charts would change to GE.
There is also an option to show a second chart window which is useful if you have a dual monitor setup and want to view charts on both. Just place a check in the box and a floating chart window will come up which you can drag over to the second monitor. The layouts discussed above can also be applied to this second chart window, which gives you the ability to display eight different charts at the same time.
Saving a layout will allow you to easily access it later. To save a layout you have create simple click the layout button and choose Save Layout. To load a saved layout, click the layout button and click on the name of the saved layout you want to load.
