Chat enables you to communicate directly with other TeleChart users who are online. There are different chat channels you can choose to chat within. The channel you chat in determines who can see and respond to your comments. You can also chat discreetly with another user using the Private Message feature. To send a private message, type /p username your message then press Enter.
When you chat, only others in the same channel will be able to view your comments. Chat channels allow for a more focused discussion. Below are the types of channels you will find and a description of each.
All-TCNet – Every TeleChart user can view and respond to any chat posted in this channel. The users seen in this channel represent all TeleChart Platinum users currently online.
Club Channels – Every club you belong to will have its own channel. Members of the club may have private discussions (only seen by other club members) within these channels.
Active Symbol – With this channel activated, every symbol in the TeleChart database has its own chat channel. If you’re currently viewing IBM and have the Active Symbol channel on, you can chat with other users who are currently viewing the chart on IBM. Press the Spacebar to go to the next stock in your WatchList, and you’re now able to chat with any user viewing that symbol.
Floating chat channel - if you click the Float Channel button on the chat toolbar, the active channel will be displayed in its own window. This allows you to monitor an individual channel without the clutter of the other channels.
Clicking on any of the profile names allows you to send a private message, view that user’s profile, or ignore their comments.
Tip: If you want to find out which symbols other users are looking at, set your WatchList to "All Items in System" and set your Sort to "# Users Viewing Chart". Sort in Descending (zyx..) order and press the Home key on the keyboard.
