Navigation History

TeleChart keeps track of your activity during each session to make is easy to go back to a symbol or WatchList you were viewing earlier. An entry is made in the navigation log each time you change symbols or WatchLists. Each log entry stores the Symbol, Indicator Tab, Comparison Symbol, Zoom, Time Frame, WatchList, Sort and Sort Direction…kind of a snapshot file of where you’ve been.

If you backtrack through the history log and then branch in a different direction by jumping to a new symbol or changing WatchLists, the history after that point in the log is deleted and your new route is recorded. As an example, let’s say your navigation log included the entries A, B, C and D. You backtrack to point B using the Backspace key and then jump to another symbol. Your navigation log would now look similar to A, B, E, F, etc. C and D would be deleted because you went back to B and started a new path.

Use the navigation buttons on the toolbar to go backwards and forwards through your navigation history. Pressing the Backspace key will take you to the previous symbol in the log, and CTRL-Backspace will take you to the previous WatchList in the log. There are no hot keys for moving forward through the log so if you backtrack and then use the Spacebar to move to the next symbol in the WatchList your currently viewing, a new branch is created and the history you’ve backtracked through is deleted.

The Back button takes you to the previous symbol you were viewing. The down arrow to the right of the Back button gives you the option of selecting the previous WatchList or Sort.
