Day 1 (Friday) click session to reveal details

Session One (10:00 - 11:10 am)

A detailed look at different techniques for setting up your entries, exits and targets for both stocks and options. We will explore the three things you need to know when you place an order: Direction—do you expect a move to the upside or downside; Distance—the kind of measured move you expect; Duration—how long you intend to hold your position. We’ll look at using your favorite indicator setups, trendline breaks, price/volume patterns along with unique order types (step-to and contingent orders) to help you place an order that fits your desired outcome.

Session Two (11:20 - 12:30 pm)

Covered calls and married puts are potential ways to get your feet wet in the world of Options trading. We’ll dig into the basics of how calls and puts work and then unpack how those can be applied to either A) hedge against loss; or B) create income with an existing position. We’ll also explore collar strategies that help lower the cost of hedging by protecting against sharp price changes in the stock. We’re going to discover what these strategies are, how they work and the tools included in your TC2000 to make setting up these trades simpler and more efficient.

Session Three (1:30 - 2:40 pm)

Conditional orders—orders based on certain signals or setups you design—give you the ability to customize when and how you enter or exit a position. Utilizing simple and widely-used indicators like MACD, Moving Averages and Candlestick patterns, we’ll create examples that help you see how to build your own custom behaviors and then use them to trigger orders for stocks or options. We’ll work step-by-step through the process of building both single and multi-condition setups so that you can create your own conditions/condition sets when you get home. Plus, if you’re not ready to trigger trades from your setups, we’ll see how conditions can be used for alerts or scans instead.

Session Four (2:50 - 4:00 pm)

Using multiple options simultaneously in "volatility strategies" is a unique method of balancing risk and reward in options trading. Moving from simple spreads to more complex multi-legged strategies, we’ll unpack how these strategies can be applied whether you think a stock will move big or consolidate over time. The colorful P&L Zones™ on these trades will help you see when and where you have potential gains or losses plus assist in balancing your risk/reward targets and time horizons. We’ll also review the built-in ordering tools that simplify the process by putting all the moving parts for these multi-legged strategies right on your chart.

Day 2 (Saturday) click session to reveal details

Session One (10:00 - 11:10 am)

In this nuts-and-bolts session, we’ll explore some of the most important chart features that help streamline your research routine. From price plots and time frames to scaling and drawing tools to technical and fundamental studies, we’ll look at how you can set up charts you can really use. Our goal is for you to create charts that help you make sense out of what you think will happen next. Practical and hands-on, this session is one where we can really answer the question: "how do I get my chart to look like I want it to?" We’ll do our best to teach you some of the best ways to customize your charts so you can personalize your trading tools.

Session Two (11:20 - 12:30 pm)

Using the intuitive condition-building tools in TC2000, we will learn the techniques needed to ferret out stocks that are showing price squeezes, price pullbacks and price/indicator divergences. These behaviors are often sought by traders but sometimes seem difficult to uncover. We’ll explore how we can dig into the market and find stocks showing these unique behaviors—from consolidations to breakouts—using indicators like MACD, MoneyStream® and Bollinger Bands®. This session will equip you with the tools to devise your own setups using your favorite indicators.

Session Three (1:30 - 2:40 pm)

Using the unique visual and powerful scanning tools in TC2000, we will explore the world of options. Whether looking at options from the underlying symbol or charting the option itself, TC2000 charts can provide real clarity in option price movement. We’ll show you how to chart options and option-related indicators using Last, Ask, Bid or Mid-point data. We will also learn to scan the massive world of options to get manageable lists of available options that have the traits and characteristics you want at the moment. You’ll also learn to customize your option chains and explore the unique option trading toolbox that makes placing option orders more intuitive and visual.

Session Four (2:50 - 4:00 pm)

Big picture trading is about understanding more than just the stock chart you’re looking at. We’ll delve into the tools that provide a more "macro" view of the market to help you with top-down analysis. We’ll investigate the sector/industry/stock connection with built-in tools that require no set up on your part. We want to understand basic market conditions and which indicators you might use to help in your stock selection during those unique conditions. With breadth indicators—the unique T2 indicators in TC2000—we’ll see how to get a "technical" view of the broader market. Then we’ll visit the ETF tools in TC2000 to see how they open opportunities to explore and trade currencies, countries, commodities in either a long or short bias.
