Day 1 (Friday) click session to reveal details

Session One (10:00 - 11:10 am)

A detailed look at various ways to place a stock or option order. Looking at both long and short positions, we will unpack alternative ways to place your orders. Starting with order types from market to buy-stop-limit, we will see the pros and cons of each and the power of the trade slider for placing those orders directly on the chart. Then we’ll look at the option alternatives—bullish and bearish ways of entering an option order rather than the equity itself. We’ll also explore attaching stops and brackets to your stock/option orders. Using the new pre-market scanning tool, we’ll walk through the workflow from identifying a candidate through placing an order for that stock.

Session Two (11:20 - 12:30 pm)

Platinum scanning allows you to go beyond scan results that only show which stocks are passing as of right now. Platinum scans allow you to test hundreds of thousands--even millions--of historical data points within second…and all using the power or TC2000 servers, not weighing down your computer or mobile device. This allows us to answer questions like: Are my conditions too strict or too loose? How many stocks does this scan typically produce? Are these results consistent or does it ebb and flow over time? How does the market seem to respond when a lot of stocks pass the scan? What are the stocks that passed at any specific point in time? Are we in a situation right now where the scan is producing a typical number of results or a rare number of results? In this session you’ll learn how to answer these questions for any of your own scans and we’ll review other platinum features like, additional alerts, auto-refreshing scans & sorts, scan count reports, and more.

Session Three (1:30 - 2:40 pm)

While entry is often the focus of a trader’s study, an effective exit can make the difference in how well we cut losses short and let profits run. In this session we’ll work through effective ways to set hard stops for both downside protection and upside profit. From simple order types (stop/trailing stop) using the trade slider to more intricate exits using trendlines, indicators and conditions we’ll walk through the entire process of setting up your exit strategy. We’ll look at option alternatives (covered calls/married puts) and step-to orders. Plus, we’ll see how to set up bracket orders that combine both stop and target in one order.

Session Four (2:50 - 4:00 pm)

Conditional orders and alerts are based on the signals or setups you design. These give you the ability to customize when and how you enter or exit a stock/option position. Utilizing simple and widely used indicators like MACD, Moving Averages and Candlestick patterns, we’ll create examples that help you see how to build your own custom behaviors and then use them to trigger orders automatically. You’ll see how the new sequential conditions give you even greater specialization to your conditional orders. Alternatively, you can use these very same conditions to generate alerts that notify you through text or email. We will work step-by-step through the process of building both single and multi-condition setups so that you can create your own conditions/condition sets when you get home.

Day 2 (Saturday) click session to reveal details

Session One (10:00 - 11:10 am)

In this nuts-and-bolts session, we’ll explore some of the most important chart features that help streamline your research routine. From price plots and time frames to scaling and drawing tools to technical and fundamental studies, we’ll look at how you can set up charts you can really use. Our goal is for you to create charts that help you make sense out of what you think will happen next. Practical and hands-on, this session is one where we can really answer the question: "how do I get my chart to look like I want it to?" We’ll do our best to teach you some of the best ways to customize your charts so you can personalize your trading tools. Plus, scan for pre- or post-market movers, gappers or unusual volume.

Session Two (11:20 - 12:30 pm)

Using the intuitive condition-building tools in TC2000, we will learn the techniques needed to ferret out stocks that are showing price pullbacks and price/indicator divergences. These behaviors are often sought by traders but sometimes seem difficult to uncover. We’ll explore how we can dig into the market and find stocks showing these unique behaviors using indicators like MACD, MoneyStream® and Bollinger Bands®. Step-by-step we will deep dive into the building and use of conditions for finding stocks. This session will equip you with the tools to devise your own setups using your favorite indicators.

Session Three (1:30 - 2:40 pm)

Tools and techniques for technical and fundamental analysis are easily accessible in TC2000. We will take time to work the chart studies so that you leave this session with a clear understanding of how to plot, edit and create conditions from your favorite technical and fundamental studies. We will explore the library of options available and then use many examples to show how you can customize the plots, parameters and arrangement of your indicators. We’ll also unpack some of the unique plots like sector/industry, comparison symbols and T2 market indicators. You’ll also learn how you can apply studies to other indicators to create unique plots like a stochastics of earnings or rate of change of EPS.

Session Four (2:50 - 4:00 pm)

In this final session we’ll uncover the Layout tools that allow you to create your own personalized and customized trading environment. From the basics of building Layouts, we’ll examine some key tools that can be used to streamline your research. Personal notes integrate your trading journal; news keeps you up on what is impacting your stocks; reports allow you to build the specific information you want on either a stock or watchlist. Plus, you’ll learn how symbol and time frame linking allow you to create a custom setup with one or multiple monitors. We’ll also see how WatchLists are a key organizational tool for your analysis.
