Options data for non-professionals is $9.99 per month. To turn it on, click My Services in the upper right hand corner of TC2000.
Real-time U.S. Stocks is a prerequisite for the real-time options data. Select your data feeds and press continue to check out.
To open an options chain, click the Watchlists button then click Option Chain.
You can also right-click on a symbol in a watchlist and select "Option Chain".
This will open the option chain for the active symbol which in this case was Microsoft (MSFT).
Clicking on a particular option symbol will plot the option data on the chart. You can add a plot for the underlying symbol by right-clicking on the chart and selecting Plot Underlying Security.
This adds a pane showing the price of the underlying security. The red dashed line is the strike price of the selected option and the dashed yellow line connects the current price to the break-even point at expiration (white dots).
If you jump to a symbol that is not an option, the underlying symbol pane will be pinned to the left on the chart. It will display again the next time you select an option symbol.
Click Trading > Order Bar > Buy, Sell, Close to open the Order bar. Multiple custom order tickets can be saved as an order bar. This replaces order templates from previous versions.
The default order bar has buy, sell, and close position tickets. These tickets will populate for any symbol you click on based on the ticket default settings.
You can change the size and layout of the order bar by clicking the Ticket Menu button and choosing Ticket Layout and/or Ticket Size. Order tickets can be floated or docked in your layouts just like any other window.
You can edit the default settings for each ticket type by clicking the Ticket Menu then Edit Ticket Defaults.
You can also add profit targets, stops and brackets to existing positions. Just click on the open position and choose how you want to exit.
Highlight the symbols in the watchlist using CTRL-click or Shift-click, then right click on one of the selected symbols.
Select "Buy (4) symbols" to open the ticket for all of the symbols selected.
The close-position ticket automatically sets buy or sell depending on if you are long or short, sets the position quantity and combines with other close-position orders in same OCA group
Selecting "1-click" bypasses the order confirmation dialog when you place orders. You will see a warning the first time you turn on 1-click trading and you will see a warning the first time you place a trade using 1-click trading. If 1-click trading is turned on, you will see the warning the first time you place a trade in a session (after logging into TC2000). You can turn off these warnings on and off in system settings. Click Tools > System Settings > General tab.
Click to choose how you want to exit the position.
Right click on existing order.
Select the order you want to place when that order fills.
In our example here we chose "Add Profit Target + Stop". You can now see the profit target and stop orders on the chart with pause icons indicating they are not active yet. These orders will be placed when the Buy order fills. Note the blue diamonds that show that the orders are linked together in an OTA group. If you place additional OTA order groups they will have different colors. The Profit Target and Stop orders are in their own OCA (one cancels all) group. If/when those orders become active and one of them triggers, then the other one will be canceled.
